Sustainable Fashion Is Important

Let's admit it, our environment is deteriorating on a daily basis, right? Air pollution, water pollution, climate change, and other terms have become prevalent in recent years. The majority of people are now concerned about environmental issues. They've also begun to help by lowering consumption, recycling, and reusing things. It's true that even the tiniest alteration in our way of life can assist in the preservation of the environment.

But have we ever given thought to what we wear?

The t-shirt you're wearing as you read this article might hold up to 2,700 billions of water.T-shirts sold around the world require over 2 billion gallons of water each year.

After a few usages, most of these garments wind up in landfills. Furthermore, the majority of the clothes are composed of synthetic fibres, rendering them non-biodegradable.

Even the acquisition of raw materials and the production of clothing contributes to pollution. To give clothes a stylish look, a lot of synthetic colours and chemicals are utilized. They contaminate worldwide water systems, causing marine life to suffer. It's no secret that the fashion and textile business is the second most polluted sector.

So, what's the conclusion?

Is it that we should stop wearing clothes?

The answer is NO, this is where the concept of sustainable fashion comes into play.

Sustainable fashion is defined as clothing and accessories that are made and/or purchased in an environmentally and socially responsible manner.

So, all we have to do is avoid synthetic fibres and go for eco-friendly apparel. Fibres made from natural resources such as hemp, cotton, jute, banana, pineapple, and others, as well as a blend of natural and synthetic fibres that are low-impact on the environment, are examples of eco-friendly fibres.

Many companies are producing eco-friendly clothing, and many people are opting for it. People are becoming more environmentally concerned and they're taking measures. As more individuals become aware of the environment, they are willing to make changes in their lifestyle that are both healthy and environmentally friendly.

It is our job as humans to protect the environment against pollution and other actions that degrade the ecosystem.
