More About Ecohats

Visiting a landfill site can be one of the most unpleasant experiences for anyone. Believe us, it makes us realise what this anthropocene era has done to the most beautiful Planet.

Let us describe THE SIGHT: our holy cows eating kitchen waste leftovers wrapped in plastic and in the process, they end up eating plastic; you will also find some underprivileged kids scavengers and also the sight of mighty garbage mountain which stinks really bad.

Fact check: Urban India generates 62 million tonnes of waste (MSW) annually, and it has been predicted that this will reach 165 million tonnes by 2030. Out of 43 million tonnes of municipal solid waste is collected annually 31 million is dumped in landfill sites and just 11.9 million is treated.

These figures are self-explanatory about gaps that exist in the waste management sector in India like insufficient infrastructure, lack of awareness among citizens about environment-friendly waste management practices.

We at Ecohats aim to divert waste from entering landfills by spreading awareness about environment-friendly waste management practices and provide solutions for decentralized waste management.

Ecohats will mobilise the youth of India towards the "Zero Landfill Campaign" by making them aware about their ecological footprints and providing them with the platform to contribute toward the cause in form of internships and volunteer opportunities.

Ecohats team has diverse skills and experience. Our team comprises experts from management, Information Technology and last but most important our young Generation.

The binding force between all members is they want to bring the change they want to see
